Dr. Otto J. Placik, a respected and experience Chicago-area board-certified plastic surgeon, received his medical degree form Northwestern University. He also completed residencies in general and plastic and reconstructive surgery at Northwestern. He completed a fellowship in the aesthetic reconstruction of complex nasal and facial deformities at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago and then completed an additional fellowship in microvascular and hand surgery at Davies Medical Center, an affiliate of the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Placik is certified as a diplomate by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc.® and is an active member of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is an active member of several local and national professional organizations. Dr. Placik performs aesthetic and cosmetic surgery, including breast augmentation, liposuction, laser and endoscopic-assisted lift, tuck and implants of the face, eyes, ears, chin, cheeks, abdomen, and thighs.

Otto J. Placik, M.D. has hospital appointments with Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights and Evanston Northwestern Healthcare (Evanston and Glenbrook Hospitals). He is a member of the Northwestern University Division of Plastic Surgery Teaching Staff. He holds an academic appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery (Plastic) at Northwestern University Medical School. Dr. Placik also actively participates in the reconstruction of complex pediatric deformities at the Shriner’s Hospital for crippled children in Chicago.

Dr. Placik not only believes in providing the best medical care for his patients, he also attempts to achieve a better understanding of each patient’s aesthetic goals. He believes that doctor and patient are partners in achieving cosmetic and aesthetic goals. Dr. Placik recently spoke at the International Conference and Exhibition on Cosmetology and Trichology on two subjects – the plastic surgery of the female genitalia and considerations in natural breast augmentation.
